Sync settings between devices
Check account-based settings sync separately from local backup.
Start server sync
- Confirm sign-in and Pro access in Account.
- Enable settings sync in the Sync section.
- Use Sync now when needed.
- Check the last sync time and result.
What is synchronized?
Sync covers general settings, shortcuts, custom layouts, Window Snap, snapshots for the current OS, and related settings. It does not transfer document contents or personal files.
Operating-system settings are separated. Local system changes such as native macOS tiling are not part of profile or server sync.
Read sync results
| Result | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pulled server settings | Applied the latest server settings on this device. |
| Pushed device settings | Saved this device’s settings to the server. |
| Merged and synchronized | Brought device and server settings up to date. |
| No changes | No new server changes were found; this is not itself an error. |
| Not configured | Review server-sync setup first. |
| Settings differ; review required | The difference could not be resolved. Check the recovery guidance. |
Check completion and the last sync time, not just whether you pressed the button. On the other device, check the same account and the intended OS and profile.
Offline use and local backup
Saved device settings remain usable if server sync fails. Restore connectivity and retry.
Check the local backup status and time. Follow local recovery guidance if setup is required or local settings cannot be loaded. A local backup does not prove data reached another device, and it is not a backup of documents, files, or app contents.
Failures and conflicting settings
Check the network and account, then recheck or sync now. If settings continue to differ, avoid repeatedly changing them back and forth on several devices. Record the current device’s status and last result and send feedback.
Rebuilding local sync creates the local sync file from this device’s current settings. It is a separate recovery action, not a replacement for a normal server retry.
